Webinar “Current Issues in Family Medicine” for students and interns on World Family Doctor Day

On the occasion of the World Family Doctor Day, which is celebrated annually on May 19, the department staff organized a scientific and practical webinar “Current Issues in Family Medicine”. The purpose of the event was to draw attention to the current issues of family medicine today, taking into account martial law.
In her welcoming speech, Associate Professor Bokova Svitlana congratulated her colleagues on the holiday and emphasized the importance of continuous development, support and improvement of family medicine in Ukraine. In her report, Associate Professor Bokova S. informed those present about changes to the Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations in Ukraine in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health dated 05.03.2025 No. 396, and also focused on new scientific achievements of the department’s teachers and the possibility of implementing them in practical activities.
During the webinar, relevant information on the organization of family medicine in Ukraine and the world, diagnostics, treatment, prevention of metabolic syndrome and chronic heart failure was considered. They also discussed the features of treating acute respiratory viral infections in children of the first year of life and the features of the mental development of children of different ages.
In the final part of the event, the decisive role of the family doctor in providing the necessary medical and sanitary assistance to all family members, promoting their health by organizing work to prevent diseases, providing treatment and care, as well as active participation in expanding the therapeutic, diagnostic and preventive capabilities of patients, taking into account their characteristics, which requires him to continuously develop and improve theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
