In June 2025, the teachers of the Department of Internal and Family Medicine — Chernatska O., Bokova S., Gula V., Kyrychenko N. — successfully completed training under the international mhGAP (Mental Health Gap Action Programme) program and received certificates of trainers and supervisors.
The training was aimed at improving the quality of psychiatric and psychosocial care at the primary level. The event was held with the participation of representatives of the association “Doctors of the World – Department in Greece”.
The importance of the program lies in increasing the professional capacity of medical workers in the early detection, management and referral of patients with mental disorders, which is especially relevant in the context of the growing demand for high-quality mental support.
The teachers will be able to use the knowledge and skills obtained both in practical activities and in the educational process — spreading the principles of integrating mental health at all levels of the medical system.
The department sincerely thanks the organizers of the event – Médecins du Monde Greece, trainers – Igor Zastavny, Volodymyr Korostii and Oleksandr Polishchuk for the opportunity to participate in the formation of a systemic approach to mental health and patient support within the framework of interdisciplinary interaction.
This experience is an important step towards strengthening sustainable models of psychosocial care in Ukraine.
