Our colleague Vladyslava Kachkovska was selected as a Stavros Niarchos Foundation Global Bioethics Fellow. This program is run by the Hastings Center, a leading bioethics institution in the United States of America, and within the framework of the program, her mentor was Dr. Jonathan Moreno, who is an extremely important figure in American bioethics, the author of numerous bioethics bestsellers, the latest of which is “Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven but Nobody Wants to Die: Bioethics and the Transformation of Healthcare in America”, it should also be noted that he has worked as a staff advisor to many governmental and non-governmental organizations, including UNESCO’s International Committee on Bioethics, three US presidential commissions, the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In 2008-2009, he was a member of President Barack Obama’s transition team. We wish you fruitful cooperation and much useful information for the transformation of our bioethical field.
