Simulation training

On February 12–13, 2026, a training on simulation training was held in Kyiv, at the “Dobrobut” clinic, for teachers of clinical disciplines of the Academic and Research Medical Institute of Sumy State University.
The purpose of the event was to form a basic pool of teachers who possess the basic principles of work in a simulation center and are able to independently conduct classes using modern simulation technologies. Particular attention was paid to clinical departments related to the objective structured clinical examination (OSCE). Our department was represented by Ph.D. Associate Professor Bokova Svitlana and Ph.D., Assistant of the Department Dudchenko Yevgenіі.
The trainers of the event were Liliya Skolska, Anzhelika Shpachuk and Antonina Chervatyuk – teachers and certified instructors of the All-Ukrainian Resuscitation Council and the European Resuscitation Council.
The program was built around the key aspects of modern simulation training. First, the participants discussed the role of simulations in medical education and their importance for the formation of practical skills of future doctors. Then, the structure of the training session was presented, including practical exercise stations that allow practicing individual clinical actions. Special attention was paid to the principles of effective feedback, as it helps students to realize their strengths and areas for development.
The participants had the opportunity to participate in the creation and conduct of simulation scenarios that are as close as possible to real clinical situations. The final block was a discussion of assessment methods in simulations and the challenges that teachers and students face in the process of implementing simulation training.
The Academic and Research Medical Institute expresses its sincere gratitude to the organizers of the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Development of Medical Education” for organizing, supporting and facilitating the training.
The training and knowledge gained will become an important basis for organizing classes in our simulation center. They will help teachers more effectively apply modern teaching methods, implement practical scenarios, and provide high-quality feedback. Thanks to this, the educational process will be closer to real clinical situations and will contribute to the formation of professional competencies of students.
